The nation’s top musicians unite as three bands in three cities experience the grit and glory of writing the next generation of hits while they compete to have their songs heard by the world.

Curriculum

The Band Experience includes:

  • Approximately 24 hours of writing and studio time with one of our music directors/producers
  • Name the band, take band photos and develop artwork and branding
  • Writing and full production of two song demo: Craft ideas for song structure, genre, emotion, lyrical content, arrangement and instrumentation. Contribute lyrics for the original songs via collective songwriting exercises.
  • Music Industry Basics. Topics covered:
    1. Press kits, bios, press releases and how to get your music reviewed in papers and played on radio
    2. Copyright and publishing
    3. Key figures in the industry and what they do: managers, booking agents, labels, publishers, entertainment attorneys
    4. How to promote performances and album releases
    5. Booking, touring, general band/artist management
  • Q & A with our professional guest speakers including:
    1. Radio and TV personalities
    2. Producers and composers
    3. Entertainment Lawyers
    4. Publishers and song pluggers
    5. Local rockstars
    6. Booking agents and promoters
  • A gig at a local venue to debut the new songs
  • Cost: $1200 per band member
